What are Singapore Youth up to?

Reading at an article on page 2 of "TODAY" paper, the title "Under 20 and HIV-positive". The title itself is shocking enough.

Reading on.. quote "Nine youth - six of them males - between the ages 10 and 19 were diagnosed as HIV-positive last year.."

Oh my! at age 10 and HIV-positive? Well not much information was given on the 10year old youth, was it thru blood transfusion or thru other means of contact . Can't understand the thinking of youths nowadays, either they are just ignorant or promiscuous. They is such thing called..1st time 'lucky'.

Parents ought to be more involved in the their children lives, and perhaps sex education should be taught in primary school instead of waiting till they reach secondary.

What a Happy Sunday for me! First it was my secondary school classmate Adeline dropping by my shop after lunch, we chatted for a while and updating each other and fellow classmates from Maju Sec. Been a long time hmm.. maybe a good 8 years since we last contact each other?

Another planned visit, a primary sch mate! Xiao Bi Chuan, from MSHS. Well for this, it will be 18years since we last saw each other. Hey, we all still look pretty much the same.. no chance at all ya!

Did my round of breakfast sale today @ BMC with fellow W&E Committee members. Usually each care group will do their part once early. However, due to some not being involved, some committees have to chip in as well.

Guess we were caught by surprised that quite a large group of youths came for their breakfast and we almost sold 40pcs of "Chwee Kweh" (half of what we bought).

So by the time the people from the 8.30am service came in most of our food are sold out. Actually quite caught by surprised with the response.

Food Sold
- Nasi Lemak
- Otah
- Chwee Kweh
- Mee Siam
- Soy Milk
- Soy Tarts

Golden Wedding Anniversary

Today, 26th April 2008. Our dear Church members, Mr & Mrs Woon celebrate their Golden Anniversary (50 years of bliss).

50years, is indeed not an easy journey being together. I feel that being together is about accepting the flaws of your partner, and acknowledging their strength or goodness. Enjoy and cherishing the time being together and yet at the same time respecting individual need for space.

Family, relatives, friends do play a role too, they are able to provide you the support, encouragement you need.

Truly, they are a role model for many of us to follow. Not to forget, that their speeches always bring laughter to everyone.
